Costs –
Q: How much does it cost to try out for TASA?
A: There is no cost to try out
Q: What am I expected to pay for during a season with TASA?
A: Registration, uniforms, tournament fees, family or personal travel expenses
Q: How much is the registration fee for the 2026/27 season?
A1: 7v7 and 9v9 teams (U11 and younger) = $850. This covers both Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 as they do not have a school team to play for at this age.
A2: 9v9 (6th graders) and 11v11 teams (U12 and older) = $600. This only covers playing in the Fall of 2026 as these older age groups are eligible to play for their Middle School/High School teams.
Q: What does the registration fee for the 2026/27 season cover?
A: The players registration fee goes towards the following: official player registration fees with US club and/or USYS, insurance coverage, club administration, coach’s pay, training sessions, field usage fees, field maintenance, referees, and other club expenditures.
Q: How much will uniforms cost?
A: New for the 2026/27 season is the partnership TASA has with soccer.com. Players will order and purchase the required uniforms from our team store on soccer.com. The total cost for the required uniforms is from $125 – $140 depending on if you need youth or adult sizes. After team selection and completed season registration you will receive instructions on how to order your players uniform. This must be done in a timely manner to ensure players have their uniforms for our first game event. We are planning to keep the same uniforms for the 26/27 season & the 27/28 season.
Q: How much do tournaments cost?
A: Tournaments range in cost but you can expect to pay between $50 – $70 per player per tournament. Plus you’re responsible for any travel expenses if the tournament requires any transportation or an overnight stay.
Teams –
Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are formed by the US club age group classification. Pending player availability, teams will be formed in the following age groups – U9, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19. If player commitments allow, we will also have teams for U11, U13, U15, U17, if there are not enough committed players, those that fall under the odd numbers will be grouped with the next age up. For example, if there are not enough players to make a U11 team those U11 players will join with the U12 players to complete the U12 team.
Q: What 229 Select teams will be offered for the upcoming season?
A: Our 229 select teams will be based on having the number of skilled players interested along with the ability to commit to additional practices, travel and season length as required.
Q: Are the teams separate by gender or are they coed?
A: Some of our younger teams up to U12 are coed.
Q: Who will my players coach be?
A: Confirmed coaching assignments will be announced prior to tryouts and will be finalized this summer prior to the start of the fall season. Although we do not plan to make changes to our coaching assignments please note that due to unforeseen circumstances they are subject to change.
Q: When will my players team practice?
A: Training sessions are at least twice a week for 90 minutes per session. Our Thomasville teams will train on Tuesday and Thursday – younger teams 5:30 – 7:00 pm and our older teams 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Moultrie teams will vary and can be confirmed with your player’s head coach.
Q: What are the fall and spring season dates?
A1: We plan to officially start the fall season the week of August 10, 2026 and wrap up the week before Thanksgiving in November. Some teams will extend their season into December.
A2: The spring season will officially start the first week of February 2027 and wrap up at the end of April. Some teams will have the option to extend their season into May.

Youth Soccer Age Group Classification Change – FAQs
US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have collectively decided to move to an age group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31, starting with the 2026-27 season/registration year.
Q: How are players classified within teams right now?
A: Currently, teams are formed based on the calendar year (January 1-December 31).
Q: When will the change go into effect?
A: This change will begin with the 2026/27 competitive season. For TASA programs, it will begin with the tryouts held in May 2026.
Q: Is TASA required to make this change?
A: Yes, all clubs that participate in leagues sanctioned by any of the governing bodies need to adopt the new age group classification system.
Q: Why is the change being made?
A: This change was made based on feedback, data, and expert input so there is more consistency among major associations. Also to better align players with their grade school peers and the school calendar, which is believed to provide better support for the social and emotional needs of all players.
Q: Will the new formation affect all TASA players and teams?
A: Yes – all TASA players and teams on both the boys’ and girls’ sides will move to the new age classification model.
Q: How is TASA preparing for this change?
A: The TASA Director is collaborating with our coaches to assess our current teams to determine what our participation numbers will look like under the revised age group change and how that may affect current teams and roster sizes. We will continue to plan for teams in each of the following age groups: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U19 and will open up additional teams as needed.
Q: Will tryouts be different given the change?
A: No, we do not anticipate any changes with the structure of our tryouts. Please check our website tasafc.com and our social media pages – facebook TASA – Thomas Area Soccer Association, Instagram @tasafc83, for current tryout information.
Q: Do players need to compete with their respective age group classification?
A: Yes, players are expected to play and compete with their respective age group for the 2026/27 season. Players will not be allowed to play in a younger age group. However, some team formations may be structured with two age groups combined thus allowing players to play with an older age group. Requests to play up will be considered. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis that take into account not only player ability, but also individual team roster needs.
Q: Who should be contacted with any questions regarding this change?
A: Any questions should be directed to the TASA director:
